Appropriateness
(12/91)

There is experience. A useful assumption is provided.

Assumption: All experiences are appropriate.

In this framework, good experiences are a pleasant compliment. Bad experiences (or the absence of certain desired experiences) are an opportunity for positive growth as the best reason for their appropriateness (that is, the best use to find for them) is discovered. This opens the fertile field of interpretation.

Implication: as alternatives are discerned, make your best immediate versus long-term choices according to your (previously determined) preferences. As for results, wish only for what is appropriate as this maximizes effectiveness.

Corollary: With this Assumption, there is only perfection (God).

Thus there is nothing to change or advise, nor is there anything not to! A useful goal is to interpret experience in this way at all times.

Note: the reason for making the Assumption is not that it is necessarily true, or even believable, but the great positive effect it can have on one's life.
